  • Cards are for on-site library use only (you will not be able to checkout materials), and will be valid in Firestone as well as all branch libraries.
  • Additional registration will be required for access to special collections such as the Rare Book and Special Collections Department and to the Marquand Library. A valid personal photo identification card will be required, please go to the Access Office in Firestone Library.
  • Card holders will have access to most licensed electronic resources (there are a few, mostly business databases, like Bloomberg, that require a Princeton University NetID login for access that will not be accessible by visitors)
Please note that Princeton University Library has a series of guidelines regarding printing, copying and scanning. For Printing, patrons with an access card may apply for a printing login and password at the Access Office. Please click here for instructions on how to print once in the library.There are a number of self-service black & white copiers located throughout Firestone and in every branch library. For a list of copy machine locations and the acceptable form of payment. Library visitors may choose to scan the documents or resources of interest. Scanners are currently available in Firestone and Marquand. There is no charge to use the scanners. Scanned documents may be saved to your flash drive, or may be sent to an email address of your choice.  

Princeton University Library, one of the world’s most distinguished research libraries, consists of the Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library and 10 special libraries in 11 buildings across campus.

The library's collections include more than 6.9 million books, 6 million microforms, 35,000 linear feet of manuscripts, and impressive holdings of rare books, prints, archives and other material that require special handling. The library's extensive electronic resources include databases and journals, statistical packages, images and digital maps.
