Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or changes in behavior or thinking skills, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection, diagnosis and intervention are vital because they provide the best opportunities for treatment, support and planning for the future. The Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association provides information, assistance and support to individuals with Alzheimer's disease, their families and caregivers as well as health care professionals. They provide many programs and services for the communities they serve, including: a 24-hour/7 day a week Helpline; Caregiver Respite Care Assistance program; Support Groups for Caregivers and Early-Stage Individuals; training and education for families and professionals; our MedicAlert+Safe Return Program that helps locate Alzheimer's disease individuals who may become lost due to memory loss and confusion; and many more. Registration is requested for this free program; sign up begins February 15th. |
