Try out this gentle physical and mental exercise. Wear loose clothing and prepare to move, following Tai Chi instructor Ann Pia. This class will be offered every Saturday for 8 weeks. No charge!

 

 

Tai Chi Chih is a series of 19 movements that promote health and well being by circulating and balancing the energy within each participant. Commonly observed benefits of regular practice include: reduced tension &amp; stress, improved blood pressure, increased energy, flexibility, and creativity. Anyone, any age, can practice Tai Chi Chih.

Kids from age 3 up to those entering 5th grade in the fall can sign up for our Summer Reading Program - Dig Into Reading!

 

Sign up as a Summer Reader at the Children's Desk. A table will be available next to the library's Doll House where your child can check in, report on what books they have read, and receive a prize every week of the program! Summer Readers can come to a special Monday afternoon event from July 1 to August 13 every week, and the final program will include not only music from Tom Sieling, but reading rewards for each child who participated.

 

Registration for the program continues through all of July. The Baldwinsville Pep Band, 'Plan BEE' will be performing at Paper Mill Island as part of the Free Tuesday Summer Concert Series. 
		

All Summer Concert Series concerts will be held at Paper Mill Island (PMI) on Tuesdays in the summer, and all are free and open to the public. There will be food, ice cream and beverages available for sale at the concerts on Paper Mill Island. Bring your lawn chair or blanket &amp; enjoy these Free Tuesday evening concerts! 

 

 

Rain location will be at Baker High School in the Auditorium. The library will know by 4 pm on concert days whether the concert is to be moved to the rain location; call 635-5631.

 

Plan BEE is made up of students from Baldwinsville's championship marching band. The pep band has performed at the N.Y. Jets summer training camp in Cortland, at the NASA Space Center in Florida, and at the Hard Rock Cafe in Baltimore, among other venues. Come hear their swingin' sounds and see the show at Paper Mill Island!

The Monterays celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2012, and they are still going strong under the direction of Dan Elliott, whose brother was a founding member.
